Merry Christmas!

We have so much to be thankful for this year. Krys will be getting his B.A. next semester and will being going to graduate school in the fall. I've been blessed to work at Parrish Creek Veterinary Clinic with a great vet and wonderful coworkers. Our little one is growing strong and healthy. We're also going to be celebrating our 2nd anniversary on Saturday (the 29th).

Wishing all our friends and family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hoping for Peace on Earth and Joy in the hearts of all mankind.

HAPPY PIE DAY!

As I have grown up, I have learned to love the day before Thanksgiving more than Thanksgiving Day.

My mom would let us stay up late while she baked her pies. We would carefully help her pour the pumpkin-goo into the pie shell. We would help cut apples for apple pie. And when everything came out of the oven, we would get slices of fresh, hot pies.

IT'S A BOY!!

We had an ultrasound today and Dr Johnson think says he definitely spotted a missile launcher! The name we have picked out for our little guy is Frederic William Granger Johnson. We won't know for sure that we'll be using this name, as we want to meet him first.

(*Disclaimer: There is a chance that the baby may be a girl. Due to pregnancy hormones boy and girl parts can be a little tricky.)

Maternity Clothes

It's official. I have enough of a belly started that my pre-pregnancy pants don't fit anymore. Thankfully, I don't have to suffer through the tents that my mother and her mother had to wear when they were "great with child." Thanks to stores like Motherhood Maternity and the oh-so-loved Bella Band, I get to wear cute, comfortable clothes that not only accommodate my growing tummy, they usually show it off too.

Another Emergency Ultrasound

I woke up on Friday morning with cramping and spotting. (I know it's probably TMI, but, oh well.) We called our OB's office and they had us come in for another emergency appointment. We explained the situation and Doc decided to do another ultrasound. The good news is that the baby is doing really well and has grown a ton in the last couple of weeks. (Baby also looks more like baby than a lima bean). I do, however, have a blood clot between the uterus and placenta. I should be just fine in two weeks or less if I take it easy. I'll keep you updated!

Emergency Ultrasound Ends Well

We set up our next OB appointment today and I talked to the nurse about some cramping I've had. She called about a half an hour later and said Doc wanted to see me for an emergency ultrasound, just in case. So, I called Krys, drove much to fast to pick him up from work and off we went. We got in and waited quite awhile for our appointment, but eventually it was our turn. He explained he wanted to check for a tubal (or ectopic) pregnancy. (Just in case you don't know what that is, the embryo implants in fallopian tubes instead of the uterus where it's supposed to implant.) He started the ultrasound and said "Oh, this looks great!" What a relief. Buggy is safe and sound and in exactly the right spot. The heartbeat was 160 and the baby is 7 weeks and 5 days old.

BIG NEWS!!!

Bobbi's going to be a big sister! Krys and I found out almost 2 weeks ago, we're expecting our first little one in April 2008! YAY! As of today, I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Things are going really well. I'm just very tired and nauseous. Oh well!

Update on the Fly

Ok, so, I'm not so good at keeping things up-to-date. A lot of stuff has happened since April.

First, Bobbi took second in her class twice at the Dog Show in May. We have two pretty red ribbons to show for it all. Her next show will be in September at the Davis County Fairgrounds. We have great expectations for this next show. She's much more confident than she used to be. It's been a huge turn-around from how scared she was when she came to us. We're proud of her!

We have had lots of friends get married in the last few months. One of my best friends, April, married Steve on May 5th. Krys' friend Randy tied the knot on May 8th. Krys' best friend Matt married Michelle on June 28th. And my friend Leon married Jennifer on July 13th.

I was in a car wreck on June 5th. (I was rear-ended on the highway on my way to work.) We just got the car back from the repair shop. (YAY!) I'm doing well. We have a great chiropractor and I have a fantastic physical therapist.

Krys was in a car wreck on June 13th. (Another driver failed to yield at an intersection and Krys hit them. We have great luck.) Krys has had some residual whiplash, but is recovering very well.

Hopefully I'll be able to add again soon!

Bobbi

Hi!

It's been a long time since I've posted anywhere, but after seeing my good friend Suzie's blog, I decided to give this another shot.

Krys and I recently adopted Bobbi. Bobbi is a gorgeous longhair English shaded cream dapple dachshund. (That's Krys and Bobbi snuggling at the beggining of the blog.) She's our baby.

We've been working very hard to train her for dog shows. She seems to be a natural in many ways, but she has a hard time learning to not be shy when people approach her. Our little girl was rescued from a kennel in Oregon and may always have fearful behaviors. We're hoping we can help her be the brave girl we know she is on the inside.
